MABL – where we are now

The Make a Better Life Trust (Solihull) (MABL) is an independent local charity which was founded in 2000 to provide support to victims of domestic abuse and their families.  Although MABL has suffered a loss of funding due to the current economic climate, we feel it is vital to continue to offer a Solihull based service and we are determined to do so, although on a smaller scale for the time being as a result of our reduced income.

MABL will continue to run support groups to help victims of domestic abuse to regain self esteem and rebuild their lives. In the short term we shall be unable to provide a telephone helpline and to accept referrals for one to one help and guidance.

We are to restructure and take a more active role in these areas again in the future, as well as providing new services. For this to happen we shall be applying for grants and charitable donations and of course we shall be fundraising ourselves.

MABL is asking for volunteers to step forward and help. At this stage we are particularly looking for people with experience of working with groups, and for help with the important work of fundraising. Anyone interested in assisting can contact MABL via the Volunteer Centre at Solihull SUSTAIN on 0121 711 3148 or register their interest through the contact page on this web site.
